Murillo Flats
Des Moines, IA - 2011
Historic rehab of the 1903 seven-unit apartment that was the largest building move in the world in 2008 and was featured on the Discovery Channel’s “Monster Moves”. The property was originally named after the Spanish painter Bartolome Esteban Murillo as the nearby Hoyt Sherman Place featured an exhibition of his paintings at the time of construction. Property was meticulously restored following principles of Historic Presevation.

26 single family homes, the “Greystones” bridge the Historic Sherman Hill Neighborhood with the Drake Neighborhood and are built in the style of the Chicago Greystone. The development includes a mix of single family homes, duplexes and one triplex. The innovative design was scalable to the size of the infill lots and helped fill in the gaps of the neighborhood.

Personal
Ryan Galloway is the Principal of Dwellstone LLC. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 2004 with a major in Accounting. He worked for Ernst & Young LLP (EY) for four years before pursuing a career in real estate development and property management, with a focus on affordable housing. He loves spending time with his wife and six children and enjoys playing basketball, tennis and hiking in the mountains whenever possible.
